State - Townview A meteorite of approx 6 billion tons hit near here over 200 million years ago, digging itself a crater of more than 20 km in diameter, in the center of which was Rochechouart, Chassenon and Pressignac (16) were the points of impact being up to 4 km to the west of Rochechouart.
